Sunset over a grey land. High above, a huge stained-glass window covers the sky; a few of its panes have colour again.

A story world for Minecraft: Java Edition

Then everyone stopped telling them.

The first page

Once, the sky was a window.

It was not the glass that made the colours. It was the stories told beneath it.

Then people stopped telling them, and the window faded, one land at a time.

Something rose from all the things never said. The window broke.

Now the world is grey. The creatures still walk, made of clear glass.

One woman kept telling stories to the sky, every night, until she was gone.

You arrive with an empty book.

There were nine colours in the window. Only eight of them were ever told.

Every colour goes back up

Colour a block, light a window, give a creature its colour: each one is a story told again. You watch the colour rise and set into the glass above you. The sky is your progress, and everyone on your server sees it fill.

Glass creatures, waiting for colour

They lost their colour but kept walking. They are not for fighting. Give one its colour and it keeps it: your colours are your signature, and no one can paint over them.
